24 Dates in 2024 – Date #19

There was never a lack of ideas on dates to consider for our 24 dates in 2024. A lack of time and space, yes, but never ideas.
It was uber fun reading and scrolling through suggested dates friends, family, and followers DM-ed us to try, and it got us thinking about what 2025 might have in store.
Should we do 25 in 2025?
Should we expand our dating region?
Should we bring friends?
We should finish out the 24 dates in 2024! – Getting back to the point!
Since there was always something new to consider, but time in our lives looks like a Tetris game on level 10, something we had done before and really enjoyed begged to be done again.
Date #19 circled back to our first 2024 date – AMC Screen Unseen. Where you can be the first to experience a new film on the big screen with a surprise twist – the movie will be revealed at showtime. AND – it’s only $5.00! You can’t even get a burger for $5 bucks anymore ( said with my old lady voice.)
With this weekend being a huge movie-going event and not everyone can get into Wicked, a movie that Ken and I highly recommend that is more cerebral than entertaining is Bonhoeffer.

The Bonhoeffer movie, produced by Angel Studios, shares the true story of a man who stood for love yet participated in a plot to kill Hitler. Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a man dedicated to peace, is called to take drastic political action that could alter the course of history. Torn between his faith and the fight against evil, he becomes an unlikely conspirator in a plan to eliminate the ruthless dictator.

I had vaguely heard of Bonhoeffer but knew little of his life and impact. I absolutely love human stories, and marvel over the influence, sacrifice, and courage of brave souls floating among us.
These types of movies always get Ken and me talking deeply, with our go-to phrase, “Did you catch that?”
So today’s blog serves as a two-for ( two for one). If you are tight on time and budget and like surprises – consider hitting up an AMC Screen Unseen near you, and if you like biographies, consider the Bonhoeffer movie.

Side note – the movies for AMC Screen Unseen tend to be productions without a monster marketing budget. I am guessing this acts as a catalyst for conversation around the film. In other words, I do not think you will get a sneak peak at the biggest blockbuster. I could be wrong, but if you decide to try AMC Screen Unseen and get to see one, please let us know!
